    Social Skills Groups

Black Hills Behavior is excited to offer Social Skills Groups to our clients in the Rapid City area.  These groups feature lessons and curriculum that is customized to the learners, limited group sizes, and conducted conveniently on the westside of Rapid City.  All groups are led by a Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s) under the supervision of our clinical team of Board Certified Behaviors Analysts (BCBA’s) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA’s).

All group utilize evidence-based social skills programming.  We use all of our resources to provide specific programs to meet the needs of each student we serve, pulling from research-based curriculum options and principles of ABA.

Within our social skills group, we will have high-quality instruction, and we welcome the inclusion of neuro-typically developed siblings to groups in order to serve as models and support with the acquisition and practical application of the concepts learned during group.  We currently serve elementary and middle school age students.  Group activities may consist of behavior skills training, role play, natural environment teaching, directed discussions, and video modeling.

All groups are currently meeting in our Rapid City center.  This provides us with a good amount of space, including table space and areas to get up and participate in movement activities.  Parents are welcome to run errands, go have coffee, or wait in the comfortable lobby area during our social skills sessions.
